Kara M. Bashutski

Employment law is inherently about people — their working relationships, their challenges, and often, their conflicts. With experience on both sides of the table — including roles at leading employer- and union-side law firms and as in-house counsel at the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba — Kara helps clients navigate both their legal obligations and the human dynamics at play.

Kara works with both employers and employees, offering practical, plain-language advice on:

Kara has completed a specialized course in workplace investigations, further strengthening her ability to support clients through high-stakes and sensitive matters. She’s also currently exploring human resources coursework to deepen her 360-degree understanding of the employment relationship.

In addition to her legal practice, Kara regularly writes about employment and labour law — including contributions to the Community Legal Education Association (CLEA) — and has been featured in the media on current workplace issues.

Outside the office, Kara can reliably be spotted on early morning runs around the city — usually looking determined, occasionally looking lost.
