Kerry is originally from Saskatoon and attended the University of Saskatchewan. He maintains primarily a litigation practice which focuses on family law matters (divorce, custody, property division, and support issues), civil litigation, criminal law (defending charges under the Criminal Code of Canada and Federal and Provincial Statutes and regulations). In addition, Kerry also assists people with real estate transactions and wills and estates (including estate litigation). In 2008 Kerry was appointed as a Special Prosecutor by the Attorney-General of Manitoba, prosecuting criminal matters on behalf of Manitoba Prosecution Service when a conflict of interest arises within Manitoba Justice. He continues to act in this capacity to the present day. In 2019 Kerry was appointed as Independent Counsel by the Attorney-General of Manitoba, to represent the rights and interests of victims and complainants of certain crimes being prosecuted by Manitoba Prosecution Service.

In 2018 Kerry obtained his call to the Bar in Ontario, succeeding the practice of Gregory Welch in the Kenora area of Ontario. Kerry has appeared in all levels of Court in Manitoba (Provincial Court, Court of King’s Bench, and the Court of Appeal), the Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Justice in Ontario, as well as the Provincial Court and Court of King’s Bench in Saskatchewan.
